Custom Computers
Ask anyone who has had more than one computer, what they would rather have, a custom built machine or one of those pre-fabricated factory fiascos. I am sure they will tell you to either build your own if you can or have someone build what you want for you. This is not the same as ordering a few options from one of the major manufacturers. A true custom built machine will have these good qualities, it should have a standard case and power supply, standard motherboard, standard power supply (size not wattage), standard soundcard, standard video card, standard modem and other parts.
The reason is simple, if something breaks, you don't want to have to order the part from Zimbabwe or have to deal with a bunch of non-English speaking people about parts, support or anything else. You need a custom machine made of common parts and made by common people who live in the same town that you do when it breaks you can say hey I need some help Mr. Computer builder. This beats the hell out of loading up the old SUV full of computers and parts and having to take them 60 to 100 miles or more for support.
My Rant and Philosophy
If you don't give your local business people the business, they will sooner or later have to find other work or other business to pursue and you will be confined to talking with Akmed or Pedro over the support lines and wasting more and more of this precious fuel that cost an arm and leg now a days to get to the retail stores for the several trips it will take to even come close to repairing your machine. Some folks say, "well I didn't buy it from you cause I figured that you only did cash business and couldn't accept credit cards." Think again!!! I can and will accept credit cards through Paypal and other methods as well so don't underestimate the local guys!!!
I really don't care if you buy your pc's from the retail stores because if you do you will definitely need some computer support from someone due to that fact and it might just be me that you choose to do this work!!! I just wanted to try and inform the general public about some real life computer situations and support issues that I have seen and heard about over the years!!!
