High Speed Internet

High Speed Internet = Anything faster than 100kbs and served up from T-1 Telecommunications lines or Faster backbones

T-1 -  Telecommunications Dedicated Line

Wireless Internet = High Speed (non-dependent only needs modem)

DSL = Digital Subscriber Line (telephone line dependent)

Cable Internet = High Speed (cable and cable modem dependent)

Satellite Internet = High Speed (Satellite Dish dependent)

Dial-up = Low speed (Telephone Line dependent)

I have tried them all, here is my rating of what I believe to be the order of superiority below!!!

T-1 -  Telecommunications Dedicated Line ( great connection but very expensive)

Cable Internet = (great connection speeds in some places and great reliability but expensive)

Wireless Internet - (great connection speeds and reliability)

DSL - (great connection but slower speeds in most cases)

Satellite Internet - (slower connection speeds and poor reliability)

Dial-Up Internet - (slowest connection speeds and poorest reliability)
